Brief introduction of company

Delphy is the worldwide expert in Food & Flowers. They are knowledge partners of companies in the horticultural-based sector. Through knowledge development and implementation, they optimise the production of Food & Flowers worldwide.


The challenge the company faced

Growers have a lot of data on processes within the growing rooms, which were mostly left unutilised due to lack of time, capacity and insight. The challenge for Delphy was to maximise utilisation of the data, digitise the growing room results and optimise the growing process.


The solution Widget Brain offered

In order to optimise the growing process in the growing rooms, we used supervised learning to realise maximum output, while reducing the use of resources.

First we connected The Algorithm Factory to the climate computers of the growing rooms and started getting real time data from the mushroom farm. The conditions in the growing rooms are compared to the growing guidelines provided by Delphy, that define ideal conditions for maximum growing results. This enables mushroom growers to adjust their growing room conditions to the ideal conditions. Four main algorithms continuously monitor the quality and output of all growing cycles, comparing them with the input variables (compost, casing, watering applied, climate). We used supervised learning on The Algorithm Factory to update the growing guidelines, adjusting the climate settings while predicting the expected outcome accordingly.
